Ms Tasneem Aslam delivered a talk to student officers on Pakistan’s Foreign Policy. She opened her talk by giving an overview of the recent developments in the region and the global power contestation that has placed Pakistan at the center stage. She dilated upon Pakistan-India relationship, situation in Afghanistan and Middle East with its implications for Pakistan and Regional Peace. She also explained the effects of Russia – Ukraine conflict and growing Sino-US contestation and emphasized maintenance of a balanced diplomatic approach based on active engagement with all regional/ global players for Pakistan. She highlighted the significance of Sino-Pakistan strategic partnership for successful completion of CPEC. In the end she discussed opportunities available, challenges being confronted and the way forward for Pakistan in the evolving geo-strategic environment. Talk was followed by an interactive Question and Answer Session.
