General Ehsan ul Haq Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) (Retired) educated the student officers on significance and relevance of strategic communication, perception management and narrative building in national security matrix. After explaining the conceptual contours and historical context, he dilated upon the importance of national narratives in contemporary environment and its role in promoting national purpose, interests and objectives. Thereafter, he highlighted certain key requirements and challenges in developing national narrative with relevant examples from Russo-Ukraine War. He also explained the significance and impact of information operations and narratives on conduct of military operations. In the end, he deliberated upon the role and responsibility of the state, media and civil society in formulation of national narrative and promoting positive perception. Talk was followed by an interactive Questions and Answers sesssion.
