DEVELOPMENT OF LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES AMONGST OFFICERS 18 NOV 22

Lieutenant General Khalid Nawaz Khan, HI(M), Sitara-i-Esar (Retired) educated the students on development of leadership attributes amongst officers. Lecture was delivered on campus. First, he spelled out the values and attributes which an officer must possess. He kept his focus narrowed down to junior leadership level i.e. Staff Officers, Company and Battalion Commanders. Then, he explained how these attributes must guide an officer through his career while positively influencing the subordinates and the organization. He emphasized that a military officer must be well-read so as to be acknowledged as an effective leader. Subsequently, he highlighted certain ways to develop and implement best leadership practices. Towards the end, he suggested efforts at individual level to acquire and refine leadership traits. He also gave guidelines to future leaders based on his personal experiences and drew pertinent lessons for leadership grooming, commensurating with the contemporary environment. Talk was followed by an interactive Question and Answer session.
