COMMAND AND LEADERSHIP IN CONTEMPORARY CONFLICT ENVIRONMENT

Lieutenant General Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmad, Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) (Retired) is a respected national security practitioner with vast and diverse experiences of Counter Terrorism, contemporary conflict management and strategic dialogues. He educated the students on Contemporary and Modern Day Leadership Challenges. He highlighted the importance of knowing our history, the Ranks & File and present / future environment which are posing multifarious challenges to the leaders at all levels. He also highlighted that how societal changes in the information age are affecting the minds / attitudes of the Rank & File, compounding the leadership challenges. Being candid in his discourse, he suggested certain measures to refine leadership skills by the individuals and improve command and leadership training at the Army Level.
