Ms Tasneem Aslam educated the students on broad contours of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy with particular emphasis on likely challenges being confronted and opportunities afforded in the evolving geo-strategic environment. She highlighted that recent developments in the region and the global power contestation have placed Pakistan at the centre stage. She vividly explained Indo-Pakistan relations with special focus of Kashmir dispute in the aftermath of revocation of Article 370 and 35 A. She dilated upon the situation in Afghanistan and Middle East and its implications for the Regional Peace. She explained the enhanced role of India in the region amid growing Sino-US competition and emphasized maintenance of a balanced diplomatic approach based on active engagement with all regional/ global players for Pakistan. She also highlighted the significance of Sino-Pakistan strategic partnership and successful completion of CPEC for revival of Pakistan’s economy. In the end she discussed certain opportunities available and the way forward for Pakistan. Talk was followed by an interactive Questions and Answers Session.
